Person: Good morning sir

Me: Hello

Person: I'm calling on behalf of your mobile service provider, your account is due for an upgrade

Me: I am aware

Person: Our current offer includes a new smart phone, is your current smart phone still satisfactorily operational?

Me: Yes it is

Person: Can I process your upgrade?

Me: No thanks, I'm satisfied with my current device

Person: But sir it comes with new features...

Me: I don't need a new device, thanks all the same

(A moment of silence)

Person: OK, thank you for your time sir, goodbye

Me: Bye


So, why the moment of silence?

Did I break the matrix with my defiant  declaration opposing new technology?
